Welcome, Direct Service Volunteers, Interns, & Staff to the

The DVCCC Virtual Classroom

Your Guide to Continuing Education

In order to continue direct volunteer service with DVCCC, we ask that all our volunteers engage in at least 8 hours of continuing education. One hour of your continuing education must be engaged with a Cultural Responsiveness themed training and one hour of TBI training (which you can find on the PCADV Online Learning Center).

Continuing Education can include:

  • Taking a new training you have not yet completed or watch a webinar in the PCADV Online Learning Center (we can track all of your progress with new courses in there and count that toward continuing education).
  • Engaging with one of our DVCCC webinars (see below) or attending a DVCCC training.
  • Engaging in a local webinar or attending a local training that can be related to direct service and domestic violence work.
  • Reading a book/listening to an audiobook.
  • Watching a film or television series related to domestic violence and/or direct service work.
  • Listening to a podcast – DVCCC hosts a podcast you can listen to by clicking here!

We have built this resource guide for continuing education: DVCCC Continuing Education Guide (PDF)

With all continuing education, please complete the form below, and email it to DVCCC administration to get credit for your hours

Personal Reflection

Now that you have read & familiarized yourself with “I Do and I Don’t” we would like you to ask yourself:

  • What did you like about this book?
  • What, if anything, could be improve about this book?
  • How would you use this book when working with a child who has experience or witnessed Domestic Violence? What kinds of follow-up questions would you ask to engage them?
